CD case
HEADLINE: Design a CD case, free theme
My first idea was to make a CD case for a music CD but I saw that kind of boring and obvious, so I started thinking about other stuff that came on CD and I liked. Then, obviously, Harry Potter popped into my head, I consider myself a huge fan so I decided to design a CD case for the film, but I couldn't pick one so I took the eight oh them.
Since the first moment I knew I wanted to have the appearance of a book as much as possible so I thought of an accordion. I tried different designs and finally decided that the "folder" one was the best one.
I took the model from an old folder we had at home and I started the design with card stock. As there are four different houses at Hogwarts and I had 8 films, I designed the folder with the four houses colors. I cut the form and glue it, then I started assembling the eight envelopes with tape.
I wanted the cover to be simple but explicit, so the most known image of Harry Potter came up: his GLASSES and his SCAR. I decided that the cover had to include them and the scarf to make it a bit more colourful, plus I decided to use again the fours house's colours for the scarf. Then based on a bookmark I have I had the idea of cutting the glasses glasses so that you could read a text behind them, and I decided to use the first page of the whole series.
The back had to have the eight titles of the movies just to specify that all of them were there and to people who doesn't know, how are they called.
Finally I started assembling everything with glue, tape and patience.
